1 | SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with in-office new employee orientation
  • Coordinate with Bookkeeper to see that all other new hire onboarding documents are properly completed
  • Assist Fiscal Officer in maintaining personnel files

 

 2 | Major Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Primary responsibility in all duties related to preparing bi-weekly payroll (Senior Staff Accountant will enter and pay payroll)
  • Receive and verify bi-weekly time and expense sheets submitted by employees and contractors.
  • Print documents; verify; record into a spreadsheet.
  • Calculate the Benefits Cost Pool entry
  • Calculate the Facilities and Administration (F&A) entry
  • Assist in keeping record of all purchases and expenditures according to GAAP and in accordance with organizational practice.
  • Process Expense submittals from contractors; verify supporting documents and enter in QuickBooks.
  • Make file copies of invoices and all supporting documents and file according to established practices.
  • Calculate and enter monthly copier billing
  • Record company vehicle mileage
  • Maintain Petty Cash accounts.
  • Operates office equipment including computer, copiers, fax machines and 10-key calculator.
  • Must participate in any required program training and remain on top of new trends by attending workshops, seminars, conferences, meetings, etc. as needed.
  • Must be familiar with computer systems, manuals and policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Fiscal Officer or Executive Directors.

3 | Skills You Need:

  • Must demonstrate a lifestyle consistent with the principles and goals of The RIDGE Project.
  • Must adhere to a strong conviction that healthy marriages produce healthy families and communities.
  • Must adhere to the policies and directives established by The RIDGE Project Board of Trustees.
  • Education or background in accounting is a must. Prefer experience in non-profit accounting; consideration will be given to length and type of professional experience.
  • Integrity, honesty and confidentiality are a must.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, among others.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is highly preferred.
  • Must be well organized, have excellent time-management skills, and be able to write reports.
  • Experience with grant programs is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently without supervision.
  • Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, self-starter, energetic.
  • Ability to demonstrate good common sense and sound judgment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations.
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced ever-changing work environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and follow through with minimum direction.
  • Must be willing and able to pass state and federal background check for working with children.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Physical requirements

To perform this job:

  • You will need to be able to stand and speak for long periods of time, sit and drive for long periods of time, will need to walk, and may need to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
  • You will regularly use hands to handle, or feel; type, with hands, reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
  • You will need to use close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and an ability to adjust focus.
  • You may occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances of 100 yards or more.
